Super Tonic - Orangeasm - Fragrance review.

March 29, 2015

"orange is the happiest colour"

Let's move past the cheeky name, okay?

I received this product as a birthday present this year and I absolutely love it.
The only way to describe it is: Oranges. It simply smells citrusy orange. I am aware that some would turn their nose up at this product, maybe it's a bit odd to want to smell like an orange? However, I do love it.

If you've been reading my blog for a long time now, you'd know that I am partial to a bit of Soap & Glory. I adore their products, they are of such high quality and this my friend, was no exception.

It isn't too strong, but you can smell it and I think it smells lovely, the smell of it instantly lifts my mood. It's perfect for this time of year too - oranges remind me of the Summer!

If you're not a huge orange/citrus lover this product may not be for you, but if you love the smell of oranges, I'd highly recommend this.

If you're tempted:

Boots - click here!

And don't worry, if the smell of oranges is appealing, but not as a fragrance spray, there are plenty of other 'orangeasm' products available...

Body Wash - click here!
Body Butter - click here!

Have you tried any of the orangeasm products? What are your favourite body sprays at the minute?

Thanks for reading!
Have a fab week!

got a secret...

March 28, 2015

Today I thought I'd do a post about a TV show that everyone is talking about: PLL or Pretty Little Liars.

The show started back in 2010 and Tuesday marked the end of the fifth season. Viewers have been left questioning: 'who exactly is A?' Theories after theories have been thought up since Tuesday's 'big A reveal', some are somewhat crazy, whereas others do spark possibility.

I've been watching PLL since around July 2014. Before beginning watching it, I had seen only one episode years before. I'd only ever heard of American's raving of it. Lately, it seems almost everyone I meet is either watching it, planning to watch it or isn't watching it but still want to know who A is.

The show is thrilling, gripping and perhaps addictive. You are always left with the unknown, there is always a reason to keep watching.

I have fallen behind on season 5, but luckily have had some free time today to catch up, so only have one episode left to view - The Big A Reveal! After that what do I do until June?

I do feel that Pretty Little Liars isn't just a TV drama-thriller. It teaches you many lessons. It teaches you about people and the complexity behind them and the depth of the decisions they make. It shows you that whoever you are life isn't going to be perfect, we all have flaws.

The storylines are gripping and the acting is fabulous!

Watching the show has kept me sane through all the work I've had to put up with and has give me 40 minutes to just relax and do some detective work (relaxing + detective work? Not sure they add up! haha). I thoroughly enjoy it and would recommend it - especially now as you can watch all 5 seasons and find out who A is! Plus - Ezra, Caleb and Toby are just beautiful!

Do you watch PLL? What do you think of the big A reveal?

'Fame' - perfume review.

March 25, 2015

'BLACK FLUID'

RATINGS:

SMELL - 8/10
STRENGTH - 7/10
BOTTLE - 8/10

I blinking love this perfume.

Description [via the perfume shop] -

Lady Gaga Fame is the first ever black Eau de Parfum that sprays clear and becomes invisible once airborne.
The fragrance has a unique structure called the "push-pull technology," where the ingredients interact together to highlight different olfactive aspects of each note at the same time, without any hierarchy.
The scent is built around three main accords: dark, sensual and light.

Ever since it's release part of me has been very tempted by this perfume. It's packaging is very 'gaga' and the thought of a black perfume is very intriguing.

My mother bought herself this perfume a few months back in the smaller sized bottle and let me tell you, I was jealous. It smelt amazing. It's one of those perfumes where you can smell it on someone, without it being too in your face!
When she ran out of her bottle she went and bought herself the 100ml version (for a bargain may I add!), I was seriously tempted to buy one for myself, but I didn't need to. I received my lovely little (not that little - 100ml) fame perfume for my birthday - thanks Mam!
I am seriously in love with the scent.

The fragrance evolves to a SENSUAL ACCORD of opulence, a fusion of dripping honey, saffron and apricot nectar.
A LIGHT ACCORD whispers magnificence. The rich floral layer of crushed tiger orchidea & jasmine sambac embody timeless beauty. (via boots.com)

I have received many compliments from people who have picked up on the scent. People have described it as a sweet/fruity scent, whereas others have described it as smelling warm.
I don't really know how to describe scents, but I do love it. I wear it whenever; day and night. I will say, it would probably make a great night perfume.

Sorry for my bad description! haha!

A massive happy 1st birthday Haia Eve...

March 22, 2015

...& thanks for everything.

When I created Haia Eve on Saturday the 22nd of March 2014, I had no idea of what joy it would bring to my life. I created this blog as part of my Duke of Edinburgh's award skill section, I thought to myself: I'll write a blog once a week for 3 months and I'll be done. 9 months after completing my skill section and here I am, still blogging.

It's really hard to describe what having this blog has done for me. I can't imagine not blogging. Haia Eve has given me a way to express my thoughts, feelings and creativity. Coming into it I decided I wanted to be completely anonymous, thus there was no photos of me, and at first I didn't even sign off as Eve. I did however, completely change my mind a few months later and decided 'what harm would being myself do?'.

Originally Haia Eve was titled 'Hub4teens' , that lasted for a few weeks as the title was too childish for my liking and had no individuality about it. After a lot of deliberation I changed the name to Haia Eve: Haia because that's how I greet people, like a hello and Eve well, because it's my name.

I love having my own space- A place where I can write what I want, when I want. Blogging has given me bundles of confidence, it has helped me in meeting new people online and offline.
When I started blogging I was in a different place in my life, my life was different. Blogging has come along on my journey to confidence and happiness.

I am yet to be completely public about my blog, but do think it is time to start "telling the world" of my blogging. I mean, it's something to be proud of!

I am so thankful for the ongoing support I receive, whether it be via the comments, my twitter, instagram etc. it means a heck of a lot! I am so thrilled to be nearing 300 bloglovin' followers, I never thought I'd be able to say that! Thank you, YOU reading this - you mean a lot!

I hope to continue to share my journey through life with you all.

A massive happy birthday Haia Eve. Thanks for everything you have brought to my life; you make me feel like I am making a difference in some small way, I feel as if I'm adding something to this world. You have added something to my life and for that I am hugely grateful.
Thanks for all the friends you've helped me make and for all the lessons you've taught me.

This year has been wonderful. Here's to many, many more!

Love always,
Eve xx

2-in-1 shampoo / conditioner

March 18, 2015

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

Since having a hair cut at the beginning of this month, I have decided to take extra good care of my hair. I must admit, I do sometimes struggle with the balance between shampoo and conditioner - what's enough? what's not enough?

INTRODUCING... Dove 2 in 1 daily moisture shampoo & conditioner! It is my love! It has seriously saved me so much time and hassle when washing my hair!

The product does all (I feel) a shampoo and conditioner needs to do - leaves your hair feeling soft, clean and looking grease free. Did I mention soft? I can't stop touching my hair after use!

I do know that this product won't be up to everyone's standard. It is by no means high end. I just think it's blinking well good and an easy + effective way to wash your hair!

I would really recommend this product, I love it!

P.S it smells nice too!

Thanks for reading!

birthday & happy mother's day

March 15, 2015

A very special day.

Hi everyone!
Today is my birthday. I turned the glorious 16.

I just wanted to put this post up to share a few photos from the day and also for me to look back on in years to come.

I have had an amazing day so far. It has been filled with wonderful moments and wonderful people. I have been very lucky to have received some lovely, special gifts: some of which are featured in today's post, whilst others will be featured in a future post.

I am so thankful to have such special people in my life who have gone out of their way to make my day extra lovely.

I'd love to wish my Mam a very, very happy mother's day. Thanks for everything you do. Happy Mother's day to all those wonderful mums.

my blogging area

March 14, 2015

 My creative space.

Today I thought I'd do a bit of a different post. I thought I'd show you where most of the magic happens (if you'd call it magic that is). I'm going to share some photos from my desk area from where I blog.

Excuse me in the mirror - I know I look like I'm wearing a bin bag, but it's actually my coat :)

On my desk:

Daffodils - My birthday is tomorrow (March 15th) so my Mam bought me some pre birthday flowers! I adore daffodils and I feel these really brighten up my space.

A cup of tea/coffee - For the majority of the time when I blog, I'll have a beverage of some sorts by me. It makes the experience of writing a post even more enjoyable and relaxing.

Notebook - 'life is beautiful CARPE DIEM' in this book I write things that I get inspired by, lessons I've learnt, happy things, sad things etc. It helps me keep track of my mind and also helps when writing future blog posts.

The computer - This what I write the posts on :)

Pens & Pencils - They are normally placed down by the side of my desk, so if I get an idea I grab a sticky note and dot it down.

Around my desk area I have photos, letters I've received, sticky notes with wise words etc. I also have some lovely fairy lights and my name in fabric.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

See you tomorrow!

Have a lovely day!
Love, Eve

the glam guide.

March 11, 2015

 Congratulations Fleur (de Force)

At the beginning of February, the wonderful Fleur from FleurDeForce on YouTube released her very first book: The Glam Guide.

Official Description:

Fleur De Force started making YouTube videos in 2009 out of a passion for everything beauty and fashion related. What began as a fun hobby quickly turned into something much bigger, and she's spent the past five years seeking out the best products, top tips and easiest ways for us all to look and feel more fabulous. In The Glam Guide she shares all of her secrets and discoveries so whether you're looking for makeup tips, wardrobe cheats, first-date pointers or healthy lifestyle motivation, this is the book for you.

In the book you can expect to see: beauty tips, hair tips, recipes, fitness tips, confidence & happiness tips, even blogging tips...and more.

The book certainly has something for everyone, and for me it has everything (I especially love the fitness section). It isn't too much of one thing and not enough of another- it's perfectly balanced.

The book is very well written and is full of useful information, that is straight to the point (just as I like it!).

As you can tell from some of the photos featured - both the cover and inside pages are beautifully designs. The book is full of bright colours, effective illustrations and high quality photos.

The thing I love most about this book is, it is just so positive and inspiring. It is a feel good and happy book to read - a real pick me up on a bad day!

I have been watching Fleur's videos for a long while now and if you do too, you can most probably see what a lovely and friendly person she seems. This book is a real reflection of her talent and the personal touches (such as photos of Mike and the pups) really show a sense of personality. I am thoroughly enjoying reading 'The Glam Guide' and would like to wish Fleur a MASSIVE congratulations on such an achievement!

Review - 'the righteous butter'

March 08, 2015

'butter yourself up' - S&G have done it again.

So, I don't really like body lotions. I think they are so annoying. They take that little bit extra amount of time to apply, they leave you with sticky and slippery skin and you have to wait extra long to put clothes on over the 'lotioned' area.

I have felt this way for a looooong time, until I tried 'The Righteous Butter'.

I am a mahoooosive fan of Soap & Glory and this product is a prime example to why it is such a trusty and good quality brand.

Why do I love this body butter?

1. The consistency is so much thicker and creamier than any body lotion I have ever tried - Is that why it's called a 'butter'? Think of it this way: The average body lotion is your 0 calorie greek yoghurt, this body butter is full fat. It's so thick and there is something so satisfying about applying it to your skin.

2. It does the job. It really leaves your skin feeling clean and so soft. I feel so relaxed afterwards.

3. It isn't too slimy or sticky. If you apply the correct amount, you don't have to wait ages for it to be absorbed to your skin, it's fairly quick.

4. IT SMELLS ABSOLUTELY DEVINE. I can't describe how good it smells - it's incredible!

Available at Boots for £2.50 (50ml)

Thanks for reading!

Have a fabulous week!

F4F#30 - WHY EATING BREAKFAST IS IMPORTANT

March 06, 2015

A very happy Friday everyone!

Hello people,

I am writing this post very last minute as I have been asleep/in bed for most of the evening!

Today I thought I'd do a more food based Fit4Friday on why eating brekkie in the morning is so important. I don't want this post to be a drag, so I'm just going to get straight to the point with everything.

If you want more food posts in the future, let me know! :)

Anyway, here's 5 reasons why eating a healthy breakfast is very important for your health.

1. 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day' - this quote is true. Breakfast starts your day off right!

2. Energy - If you were a car, breakfast would be your fuel. If you want to be able to function at your best potential you need fuel in the tank.

3. Weight loss - You may think that skipping breakfast will help you to lose weight, you are incorrect. Studies show breakfast is very important in maintaining a healthy body weight.

4. Brain - Breakfast is really important to make sure you are able to concentrate - it gives you the fuel you need to work at your best and concentrate in what you are doing.

5. It's tasty - I look forward to a good breakfast, whether it be a bowl of Fruit and Fibre or a cinnamon and raisin bagel with a cup of coffee, breakfast gives me that feel good feeling in the morning!

http://www.burleighbedandbreakfast.com/resources/food3.jpg

I do hope that at least one of those reasons is enough to make you want to eat a good breakfast every morning!

Have an amazing weekend!
Love, Eve

MAKEUP HAUL

March 01, 2015

Happy 1st of March & Happy St David's Day!

Yesterday I did some spending in town on some makeup bits. I always try to keep a natural look, so my makeup is very minimalist, but I decided I did need a few new pieces to make me look half decent in my day to day life.

I have heard that the wake me up concealer is a brilliant under eye concealer, which is an area I need to conceal (especially with the early weekday wake up times!). It is supposed to go well with the collection 'lasting perfection' concealer (which I already have, it works brilliantly on blemishes!)

I wanted a very natural mascara, so I went clear with colour lash mascara.

Finally, I needed a brown mascara, but in the end went for brown/black as my lashes are quite dark. I've heard quite a bit about this mascara, so I'm going to be giving it a go!
